Hope Blooms Psychotherapy We're here for you
I am a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature from Queen’s University and a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University. In addition to on-going direct client counselling, my professional experience has involved working in university housing services, research, crisis counselling, and settlement/newcomer services.
I favour a mix of approaches and techniques like Narrative therapy, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Self-Compassion, Solution-focused Brief therapy, and CBT (Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy), depending on what resonates with and is most suitable for each client's needs.
My style is eclectic and client-centred. Curiosity motivates me to learn from my clients about their stories, their thoughts, their hopes, their fears, and their desires, so I can meet them exactly where they are. This allows me to best support them in shifting towards where they want to be- focusing on the journey rather than the destination. I can't wait to meet you and get started!
