At Hope Blooms, we provide free "meet and greet" consultations so you get to see and have an informal chat with the therapists so you can get a better sense of who we are, how they approach their work with clients, and ask any questions about therapy sessions, costs/sliding scale, scheduling, etc. Unlike more practices, we encourage you to book a free consult with as many therapists as you'd like!
This is really important to us as the therapeutic relationship has been proven to be the most essential component in the therapeutic process. We want you to feel as comfortable and confident in your decision- as much so as one can after a brief initial chat anyways! We know talking to someone new can be overwhelming and anxiety provoking- and we are so proud of you for showing up for yourself!
We are obviously a little biased in this regard- but as therapists and consumers of therapy, we firmly believe and have seen that therapy can benefit everyone- throughout various life stages and life transitions. If you're questioning whether therapy is right for you, it's a good indication that you could use some support. What most people love most about therapy is that it is designated time to focus on your mental health and healing, in a safe, supportive space, with an impartial, non-judgmental person.
There are some options depending on what works best for you and your schedule! Some of the options for therapy sessions include:
If none of these options feel like the best fit for you, let us know and we will always try to accommodate as much as possible!
Great Question! At this time we do not provide direct billing as our focus is on supporting clients opposed to working with insurance companies.
Session payments can be made via credit card or E-transfer. After payment is received and processed, we provide you with a paid invoice that you can submit to your insurance provider or extended health benefits to see if you are eligible for reimbursement. We always recommend looking into this before beginning therapy.
We also provide sliding scale for those in financial need.
Many people find that they actually feel safer and more relaxed when having emotional, difficult conversations virtually. With secure, confidential video counselling sessions, you are able to really connect with your therapist from the comfort of your safest space, and they can visually assess how you are doing throughout the sessions.
Many of our clients really enjoy the convenience of not having to commute to an office, worry about parking, potentially contract an illness from being in a public space, finding childcare, etc. For those that work from home with children in their care, or those who have busy lives and schedules, virtual may be a great way to fit in therapy that you might not have been able to access easily otherwise.
It is very important to Hope Blooms to reduce these barriers and meet you where you are at!
Further, there is a lot of evidence to support that virtual therapy is as effective as in person therapy. For prospective clients that are unsure, booking a consultation can help answer any questions that you might have about working virtually, as well as give you a chance to feel what it’s like to interact with your therapist virtually.
