There are many incredible reasons for attending individual counselling. Therapy can be helpful for those navigating internal and external stressors, mental health concerns, interpersonal relationship concerns, and so much more.

Individual therapy offers you with a safe, compassionate space to learn more about your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, and to set meaningful, realistic goals, while gaining valuable information, tools, and coping strategies.

You are worthy & deserving of support. You are not alone, and it is unfair to expect yourself to get through the challenges of life alone.

Conflict in any relationship can be inevitable at times- and avoiding conflict often only exacerbates relationship challenges. Couples therapy can be beneficial for any couple- whether things are currently going well, and you want it to remain that way, or whether you are struggling to connect, communicate, or move forward in a healthy, happy trajectory. Couples therapy can help improve communication, deeper connection through vulnerability, heal after a trauma (e.g. infidelity & betrayal trauma).

We have a special affinity & passion for working with couples as we know how important, significant & impactful these relationships are to our lives.

Family therapy can be helpful to improve family cohesion, communication, parent-child/teen relationships, blended family dynamics, etc. It can also be valuable for supporting families through life transitions (e.g., grief and loss, adjusting to a new sibling, separation/divorce, gender affirming care, etc.)

We bring our professional and personal lived-experiences to our work to support each member in a way that resonates most with them, to ensure each person feels heard and supported. Hope Blooms Psychotherapy is a fully inclusive space for any and all family dynamics.

“Family therapists view the therapeutic relationship as a means to an end rather than as an end in itself. Family therapists see beyond the problematic patterns in the family to the potential healing power of family relationships.” ― Joseph A. Billing & Payments

Fortunately, most insurance companies now have coverage for counselling sessions with Registered Psychotherapists (RP) and Registered Social Workers. Please be advised that it is the client's  responsibility to investigate/confirm the parameters of their insurance coverage. As this is so variable from employer to employer,  we do not have access to that information. We do not offer direct billing but instead provide you with a paid invoice via E-mail to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement once payment has been received. We are also happy to provide you with a full summary of session payments come tax time if needed. Payments can be made via Credit card or E-Transfer on the day of the appointment. If at any time you are having challenges keeping up with your financial agreement, please let us know as soon as possible.  Additionally, if you have concerns about the fees, please discuss this during your free consult so we can assess whether a sliding scale/reduced fee is possible.

Documentation and Court Fees

If you require documentation from your therapist, the rate will be the same as their hourly rate for sessions, unless otherwise discussed and agreed upon. Documentation can only be provided to client's who have been actively engaged in therapy.

Hope Blooms Psychotherapy is a 100% online practice, providing service to residents all over Ontario. As such, our therapist's will not appear in court in person. All subpoenas will be reviewed by an attorney and our regulatory bodies. If it is deemed legally required, we may appear in court via tele-conferencing after receipt of a court order, and this is to be arranged/facilitated by your attorney. Fees for appearing in court are charged hourly at our base hourly rate for sessions. Payment for court appearances may require a contractual agreement specific to payment for the appearance(s) and will follow the cancellation policies of this practice. Fees for court appearances do not include preparations, consultation or any related documentation that may be required.
